Summary
The Citi Rewards+℠ Student Card is a solid rewards credit card for students.
When you're living on your own or commuting to class, gas and groceries chew up a lot of your money. The Citi Rewards+℠ Student Card rewards you for these purchases, paying 2 points per dollar on gas and groceries. You'll get 1 point per dollar spent elsewhere.
To sweeten the deal, the card even rounds all the points you earn up to the nearest 10 points. That doesn't make a monumental difference, but if you use your card a lot, every little bit counts.
You can redeem points for travel, gift cards, or for store credit at Amazon and Best Buy, making it easy to use the points. You also get a 10% rebate on the first 100,000 points you redeem every year, adding even more value.
The Citi Rewards+℠ Student Card comes with other Citi benefits, like Citi Private Pass and 24/7 customer service. For a student credit card, the Citi Rewards+℠ Student Card earns solid rewards and offers great flexibility in redemptions—and it can set you on a great path with credit.

Optimize
Make sure you earn the Citi Rewards+℠ Student Card's sign-up bonus, then to use the card for whenever you buy gas or groceries. That way, you'll make the most of the card's bonus categories.
In theory, you could take advantage of Citi rounding up your point earning to the nearest 10, but the pay off isn't worth the effort. Your time is likely better spent elsewhere. Just take note of how points round up.
When you redeem, use points for travel or gift cards to maximize their value, and avoid redemptions for statement credits.
